Each year, we head to the beach for a few days between Christmas and New Year’s, just the five of us.
We stay at Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, Alabama, and rest, relax, and enjoy a respite from the fun and frazzled chaos of the holidays before starting back to real life in January.
Turquoise Place is right on the beach, so we have a gulf front view right from our balcony.
Change of Pace is Turquoise Place’s poolside grill and bar. It’s so nice to be able to order food and cocktails to enjoy from a lounge chair or watching the waves!
The Orange Beach Welcome Center is just down the road, and is a great way to find out about all the fun activities happening during your trip!
We always visit The Wharf while we’re at the beach! There are fabulous and fun shopping options, events, and restaurants.
Another must do when we’re at the beach is a spa appointment at The Beach Club.

Fisher’s has a casual dockside restaurant that the whole family loves, and a more formal upstairs restaurant that’s perfect for date night.
Brick & Spoon is the best brunch spot! Make sure to start with the beignets!
Playa has my favorite coastal casual decor, and the fresh Mexican dishes are delicious.
GT’s has outdoor seating right on the bay, and the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had.
We try to get down to Orange Beach at least twice a year. If you’re looking for a family friendly, beautiful getaway, this is your place!
